About me
Bethann Rea is the Digital Collections Management Librarian for the Preservation, Conservation and Digitization department at Penn State University Libraries. In this role, she coordinates the development of new digital collections, monitors remediation projects, designs workflows, and implements new imaging equipment and software. Ms. Rea also provides consultation on digitization services, equipment, and project management. She acts as the product owner for the University Libraries’ Digital Collections platform, CONTENTdm and represents Penn State University Libraries as part of the Google Books Library Partnership program and in the BTAA Digitization Managers group.
Ms. Rea is an active member of American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries, the Pennsylvania Library Association, and the PA Digital Cultural Heritage Collaborative. Prior to her current position at Penn State University Libraries, Ms. Rea was the Digital Production Supervisor overseeing the daily activities of the digitization lab at Penn State’s University Park campus. She was also the Processing and Imaging Coordinator for the Registrar’s Office at the University of Kansas. Ms. Rea graduated with an M.S. in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University in 2015.
